Paradise in Mind

There are dreams that you'd forget the very moment you wake up, and there are dreams which you wish you'll remember for eternity. I'd a lot sweet and happy dreams.. Dreams which I wished that it were real. It need not to be lucid dreaming.. freedom isn't much when I'm acting exactly what I wanted to. I'm not an expert, but from my personally experience, dreams are experienced through our sub-consciousness, so even if I'm not in control of my mind like in lucid dreaming, I'd still react to how I want things to.. after all, it's my world. I've often get dreams which involving meeting my crush; be in celebrity crush or real crush. Strangely, those dreams only appear once and never again.. I mean, for each crushes. Well, yesterday night I receive a dream where I was with Jin Ye Seon in a car.. I recognize her as Park Ha (From Rooftop Prince) and she introduced herself as SaRa or something.. Very weird dream, but kept me smiling even after I woke up. It's funny because before I slept, around 1 plus, I played Resident Evil 6.. and my angry mom warned me that if I play such a scary at late night, I'd get nightmare.. HAHA. Nightmare.

8 Candies

I knew it! 2 months of holidays seem to have past so quickly. I've completed many dramas in these two months; Ghost, Rooftop Prince, Cain and Abel, Bridal Mask and many more.. And the thing is, all of them are awesome! Bridal Mask is an action-packed epic drama, something like iljimae. Cain and Abel is unique because, for the first time, I've no idea which couple to root for. Well, before it became clear who So Ji Sub's character is going to be with, I really have no idea. While So Ju Sub was really sweet and romantic with Chae Jung Ahn, it was extremely cute when he met the clumsy and dorky Han Ji Min. Rooftop Prince, also cast by Han Ji Min, was no doubt another addictive drama. Like Cain and Abel, it involves some very mean antagonist who would even go to the extent of killing a person to achieve what they desire. However, you'd feel relieve thanks to the loving couple in the drama who gives each other their fullest support. I've come to admire many actresses recently. Last time I used to stay infatuated with just one at a time, but I didn't realise how much I've missed. There are plenty of outstanding and talented actresses out there and they deserve all my support as well. So now, I've decided to support all of them! No prejudice! Here's the list of actresses who I think deserve recognition. They are the most outstanding among those that I've ever known. 1. Lee Yeon Hee
2. Lee Soo Kyung
3. Han Hyo Joo
4. Han Ji Min
5. Ha Ji Won
6. Goo Hye Sun
7. Jin Se Yeon
8. Chae Jung Ahn
Anyway, I'm watching Five Fingers now. It's such a good drama and it frustrates me to see how the drama fails to attract many viewers. The ratings are also ridiculously low. I've to wait a week for two episodes since it's still currently airing in Korea. In any case, I'm looking forward to each and every episode of the drama, and especially Hong Da-Mi's brother story.. I'm eager to see how the good old brother would do to get revenge. Will he turn extremely evil? Hahaha.. I wish I know.

Bad meets the Good

It has been the third week of my school holidays, and as usual, I spending it in front of my computer - Watching movies and dramas. This is a well-deserved holiday and I was planning to make full use of it. Well, watching movies and dramas can be considered constructive since it's relevant to my course! HAHA! Okay, I was finished plenty of dramas and movies recently, like "The King 2 Hearts" and "Ghost". I'm planning to start on "Rooftop prince". I always do not have the motivation to start on a new drama after finish a good one, because I'm still stuck in the previous story. "Rooftop prince" is a popular drama and I know I'd love it after I start watching it... but having to start on it is a problem. "The King 2 Hearts" was extremely good and kept be thinking about for a long time. "Ghost" was good too but, just not as impactful. It started well, but it starts to get exaggerating after the first few episodes. There were a few epic moments but I spent most of time comprehending: "Is that even possible!?". Okay, so just now, I have finished a movie called "A Millionaire's First Love". The title of the movie itself have already intrigued me to the core. My interpretation: A rich and obnoxious guy falls in love with a sweet and simple girl? Gosh, definitely my cup of tea! The movie isn't disappointing at all.. In fact, it's really well done. I saw comments stating about Lee Yeon Hee's poor performance in that movie but I feels like she did great. The pain of losing someone you love, it's excruciating, but the concept is cliche in movies. This movie put it off well. The death was anticipated, but it was the process that is priceless - How the two protagonist spent their last few moments, and how the girl finally departs. The movie is still revolving around my head now and I won't ever forget how beautiful the movie is.

Big Fish

I always thought that politics were boring.. But the drama "Daemul" really changed that thought of mine. I always know how influential media can be; hence never underestimate it. I've completed the drama and I really gonna say that besides the interesting plot, the drama has a really really good sound track. It's soundtrack isn't like the dreamy kind, like Secret Garden Ost, but very strong and powerful in the emotion. Initially, I watched the drama for Lee Soo Kyung; I knew of this drama quite long ago, but wasn't motivated to watch it because I hated politics. Although Soo Kyung's screen time in Daemul is extremely little, I enjoyed the drama nevertheless. Definitely one of the best drama I'd ever watched. I'm still infatuated with Soo Kyung, so I'll be starting on "Colour of Women" and "Dear Heaven", as well as rewatching "Golden era of daughter-in-law". I totally love her bright smile!

Soulmate

Wow... I've just finished an old drama, "Soulmate" starred by Lee Soo Kyung. I can't help but like Soo Kyung more and more.. She has this really friendly face, and her smile is just... too intoxicating. I love her in comedy, but I gonna admit she is really good in sad dramas too... She can just burst into tears within seconds.. That's really remarkable and impressive. Anyway, Soulmate is really a unique drama. The concept is really special, and the soundtrack is just perfect. The ending of the drama is also kind of like a cliffhanger, make us crave for a sequel (Sadly there isn't one). The drama started off with a few characters with different story, completely unrelated to one another. Then, as the story develops, they start to meet each other and it gets more and more engaging. The drama also started off really funny, really comical.. Near the end the drama became really emotional. I totally love those scene where the lead male and Soo Kyung cross each other without noticing their presence. Those scenes, combining with the awesome soundtrack, was ridiculously beautiful. The soundtrack, "C'mon through" and many other songs have such huge impact for me.. After all, I'm a huge fan of indie music. The ending shows the male lead and Soo Kyung separate - The male lead went to america while Soo Kyung stayed in S.Korea. However, three months later, Soo Kyung decided to go to Japan to study photography. Ironically, it turns out that the male lead also went to Japan for some reason. Whether they met in Japan wasn't shown in the drama, I guess they want to leave it to our imagination. I wasn't expecting such an ending and the thought of "Would they meet again in Japan?" gives me goosebumps. My guess is that they did meet each other in Japan, since I believe the two are true soul mates. Great drama, very unique. I love comedy + emotional drama.. Where there's a balance between sweetness and pain. The poster of the drama also looks really interesting:

Beauty is defined by your smile

It's 2.40am... And it's Saturday! A few hours ago was still Friday.. and I spent quite sometime to finish two of my assignment. I'm finally getting the pressure of poly life. I'm lucky enough to have started on my research earlier.. cause I've just receive more assignments! All must be handed in on Monday. I'm also done with my wiring sculpture.. Something I do not wish to do ever again.. it's not only tedious, but also painful. Well, because I do not have the necessary equipment - the pliers I used were all rusty. Anyway.. I guess I'm having a new celebrity crush now.. She was in my list of 10 top already, I'm just increasing her position. She is none other than Lee Soo Kyung. Her role in "loving you a thousand times" (I'm current watching) is just too sweet to resist. Ever since I saw her in "Golden era of Daughter-in-law", I knew she have some kind of potential. I've a thing or two for girls with a sisterly vibe, and she's just perfect! Furthermore, she smile is comparable to Hyo Joo's.. I've no words to describe it. She is current my top 4.. nearly 3, along side with Lee Yo Won, following Ku Hye Sun at top 2 and Han Hyo Joo at top 1. I don't think she is very famous because I mostly see her in soap opera only.. And soompi don't even have an official thread for her, so it's kinda hard to get more information on her. I've just saw an old video of her and min woo (from shinwa) playing a game in Xman (Variety show). I remember seeing Hyo Joo play that game before and it's really hilarious. She and minwoo were so cute!! And her last comeback was really awesome... Minwoo asked if he have a place in her heart, and she replied "Of course.. But only a very very small portion of it" causing huge laughter. I gonna say I like Minwoo really well too... He treats girl so nicely! I'm going to post the video below.. Enjoy that cute little game! :)

Fateful day

Okay.. Today was quite an unlucky day.. not to me, but to one of my friend. We were supposed to have a gathering at 7 for dinner, and I finished my class at 4.30.. That friend of mine said that she'd be ending her class at 5.. So I thought I'd have a company for the next 2 hours.. But she msged me and told me she'd be doing work in the meantime. So, I decided to wait for her... I went to the library.. reading books after books.. waiting and waiting.. Until I started to fall a sleep. When I woke up, I realised that it was already 7... but she havent msg me yet! So I went to meet up with my other group members and GL first.. Then, one of my GL received a msg from her, stating that she won't be joining. I was kinda mad that moment, then I received her msg. She said she can't go because her dress has some problem.. and I asked her what... Then she reply she "Zhao Gengg".. I wasn't sure what that means and I thought whatever happened to her, she got her classmates to help her. I started to randomly give her some advice cause I wasn't even sure whats exactly going on. When I was having my dinner.. something triggered my mind.. and I realise that the whole situation was far worse than I'd expected. Worried, I decided to give her a call. I also realise that I brought my jacket along with me, which might help her in some way. I've decided to go back to school if she requires my help, but it turns out that she's already gone on to a bus. I asked if she has any friends helping her but she said no.. I was really mad at myself for not passing her my jacket when I was in school - that would have saved her hell lot of trouble. She thanked me for being concern, although I know I don't deserve it... I didn't do anything to help out at all. I keep asking myself.. WHY??? WHY??? I should have cared earlier.. sigh

Same old habit

I am someone who believes in love in first sight.. It's never wrong. Then, life proved me wrong once again... The first day I saw her, I didn't even pay the slightest attention to her.. I didn't find her special at all. Then, the second day, she first talked to me.. We'd a little chat, then I find her quite likable.. Even I wasn't sure.. When it begins. Maybe she is just different.. Soft-spoken and caring. I havent seen or talked to her for a week.. and I miss her deeply. It's kind of strange and creepy, but I think of her every minute or so. Sometimes, when I was eating and I thought of her, I got so nervous and loses my appetite. Ofcourse, this ain't my first time.. In secondary school, I experienced this kind of feeling as well.. I thought I'd be free after moving on to Poly..And ofcourse, I know it's impossible.. Even I wouldn't want to get involve in a relationship now.. After all, my lifetime goal is to only get into a relationship once before getting married. I'm not confident in surviving a relationship for 10 years or so, before getting married. However, I won't know until I try. Anyway, this feeling is bullshit. The only reason I'm bloggin this feeling down is because I wanna remember this feeling when I gets older.

Knowledge ain't power.. Knowledge is beauty

Okay, now that I'm on the track towards my dream, I need to have new goals. Since I'm in the course Moving Images, I gonna stick with the media and filming path.. There's not changing. I've been thinking a lot a lot of this. One of the reason I joined this course about filming is that I'd get to see those superstars!! I always envy those backstage crew who get to have close encounter with stars. No! I lied.. that ain't my reason although it's pretty cool. I joined a filming course because of my love for Korean Dramas. I've came to realize the power of media and how it can influence it's viewer. With this in mind, I can use media to apply positive impact on the viewers. But I do have another dream in mind. The world is tremendous and it's really sad to be stuck in a same country for the rest of my life. Since I'm always curious of the culture of other countries.. I say I'd be very pleased to be a document-er. I want to learn, understand and appreciate the culture of other countries.. I wanna learn about their interesting history and heritage.. They say seeing is believing.. hence, I want to see it for myself. I also love animals, so documenting animals would also be a pretty fun thing to do. Some of the documentaries I loved was "Man vs Wild", "Pawn Star", "Ancient Astronaut" and anything related to wild lives, extraterrestrial beings or history of certain countries(Rome) or some lost civilization. But this is a pretty tough path as that'd mean I gonna leave my hometown for very long.. Then I'd miss my family and friends... Still, I wish to see how beautiful the world really is.

New Life

It's been two weeks since I've started on Poly. I love the life here.. I've meet a few good friends already, and I gonna say that I'm lucky enough to find them so quickly. Making friends ain't hard at all, but making the right friends can be pretty difficult. I made a few friends in the orientation camp, and I'm still in contact with them although we don't see each other frequently in school, since we're not in the same course. I've made three good friends in my course.. All four of us watches animes, therefore we got a lot of topics to talk about. In other words, we're all nerds and we suit each other just fine. They are all very nice people, so I feel really comfortable around them. There are other nice people in my course, but they are too loud at times and too hyper, making me few uneasy. On the other hand, I met a girl from my group during my orientation camp. She's a very quiet, reserved and gentle kind of girl. She's also very kind and hence for the first time I felt very comfortable around a girl. We still meet up for certain events after the camp, although she's from a different course. We still chat via facebook or phone. I'm glad we became friend and girl like her is very rare to find these days. I cherish our friendship and hopefully she does, too. Currently, I only have a class everyday, and compared to other courses, my course can be said to be VERY slack. Well, for now at least, since I'd be starting on my second class on week 5. My current class, design fundamental... Well, I say it's really kinda boring. We learn drawing, sketching, shading.. everyday a different method. From line work and layout to pencil shading to perspective drawing to reserve drawing to charcoal drawing to pen and ink shading... Tell me how in the world can I keep up. There are people who took art during their secondary school years and they can shade and draw freaking well. Me... on the other hand, draws like shit. Drawing wasn't really my passion since young. It was just my hobby, and I draw cartoons and stuff. Realistic drawing is a different story. I say current I'm best at drawing using charcoal. Still, my course is Moving Images.. Drawing shouldn't be very important. Thus, I tend to think that this module isn't exactly important. but nevertheless, I'll try my best! Some of my charcoal drawings:
My very first charcoal drawing done in class
This one was done today, a charcoal drawing of Gandhi, dedicated to Shiddu, my secondary school friend.

Going Ninja

Okay, I knwo I havent been updating my blog lately, and I feel bad about it. School is starting a in few weeks time. In fact, I'll be having my camp in about 1 week time. I'm not sure if I should be feeling nervous or excited, because I'm not sure what to expect in Poly..
Anyway, lately I've been hook up with an old anime.. Naruto!! I'm not sure why I started on such an old anime at this point of time.. maybe I've too much of free time. I just managed to catch up to the newest episode.. and I gonna say Naruto did not disappoint me.. after all, it's a popular anime. I'm going to do a short review or all the awesome anime I've watched so fair.
Naruto is probably one of the best. The storyline is engaging, and at certain point emotional. Honestly it's the first anime that'd almost made me cry.. at least tears rolling in my eyes. I can actually feel their hardship, hatred and pain in the ninja world, and this is really something. I love some of the characters, especially the hardworking Rock Lee; he is just soooooooo cute. I also love Neji, who is so badass. I'm please with most of the female characters, like tenten and sakura, but I especially love Shizune! She is like, my dream girl. During the pain invasion, she died. Although I read the wiki which spoiled the story, revealing that she would be revived later, I still got a heartbreak when her soul was taken by the Human Path. I'm glad she is alright! Tonton is also a cute character. The only bad thing about the series are those bad filters. Almost of the filters are nothing new, just recap on past events. The main story is so exciting, but those boring filters make the story seem dragging, which intensely annoys me. The fourth war is starting and the next thing I know is a 4 week special filter.. Shit.
One Piece is also another one of my favorite anime. Similar to Naruto, the anime emphasize on the importance of bonds and friendship. Unlike naruto, the main characters, Luffy and his crews (nakama), are all a bunch of badass who thrashes their enemy.. The battles in One Piece are also exciting and unpredictable, especially when it's badass vs badass.
Other good anime I've watched includes Hitman reborn, souleater and D-grey man. D-grey man have always been good.. however, it stopped quite earlier. Hitman reborn was good unitl a certain point, when the enemy gets ridicuously strong..

Thailand Trip

I'd my ups & downs in the Thailand Trip. Went to Thailand on the 22 and returned on the 26. Han Hyo Joo went Thailand on the 26 and I missed her by a few hours, since I board the plane at night and she probably reached at noon. The trip was undoubtedly fun as I got to experience things that I'd never done before like the parachute flying and sea walking. I've also gone to many attractions in Bangkok, like the floating market, dreamworld, chinatown and many more. Pattaya was fun too, especially the Alcazar performance. It's hard to believe that I'm actually saying this but.. those man were pretty.. The beach at pattaya was so clear, and the sand was so fine. However, I did not get to do much there because the sea walking took so much of my time away.. All the waiting seriously spoils the fun. Oh, and one more thing, the service there sucks big time. Rude and unorgainised. In Bangkok, dreamland, I'd so much fun that I didn't even noticed that I lost my freaking phone. MY LG OPTIMIUS 2X.. The phone that cost me a bomb.. Gone. By the time I realised, I'd already have no ways to get it back. Some asshole probably found it and keep it for themself. Those lucky ass... Nevertheless, the trip was good. I got lots and lots of souvenirs for my friends and my parents estimated the cost of the trip to be SGD 5000. Expensive but worth it. Hopefully next stop would be Seoul, Korea!!

Priceless

Today is the I receive my o level results and this is exactly what happened. I'm pretty much confident and had high expectation of my results. I could still sleep well and eat well the day before receiving the results. Well, but today, things were a little different. No matter how prepared or how confident you're, on the actual day, you can't help but apprehend. I'm not sure why, but anxiety did not occur because I fear I might not do well or anything.. But because it needs to be there, or it might seem as if I'm over-confident and God might give me a retribution for that. Yeah, it necessary I say. I could not have my lunch because I felt sick in the stomach. I didn't show it, but my heart are beating faster everytime I think about the results. Luckily, the atmosphere wasn't as bad as last year. Not many people were seen in despair compared to last year, but this is only my perspective... Maybe I was too busy minding my own business. The new principal started off by talking about the percentage of improvement and stuff.. Then, things get interesting when she started announcing the top students of the year. The top of the express classes got an aggregate of 9 for L1R5. I was stunned by her remarkable results, oblivious that the principal had started announcing the top 3 of the sec 5 class. What made me even more stunned was the name on the screen. I was caught off guard. That's mine freaking name! Everything flashes pass so quickly. I knew I wasn't in my right mind. But in any case, I went up and collect my results. I could not believe it. What disappoints me was that my L1R5 is 20. Yes, I'm a top student for sec 5.. but I can't even be compared to the sec 4 express student. I'm like a prawn.. a freaking prawn. But anyway,I'm a top student and I should be happy. I got a L1R4 of 15, and minus 2, I got 13. That's pretty satisfying although my target was 11. I couldn't get into the course I want.. But there are still lots and lots of courses I'm eligible for. Choosing the right courses is no easy task either. I've 4 days and make my choice and this is going to affect my future, greatly. Despite my results and recognition, I wasn't feeling exactly good today. The moment I received my results, I felt extremely hungry.. because I skipped lunch. Well, that's not the reason why I wasn't feeling good. The reason is probably because I won't be seeing her anymore. If I wanna take a chance, it'd right now. But, it's really stupid for me to make a new friend right now. For most of the time, I was thinking if something could happen.. between us? I saw her looking at me for a moment and I felt worse. For a few times she was right next to me but nothing could be done. I wish I could ask for her results or something.. but shit. Yeah, in the end, nothing changed. She probably see me as a weirdo and she is still my perfect stranger. Thanks.. I thought today.. or rather yesterday, since it's 12.54 now.. was my lucky day. To conclude, the day wasn't bad at all. Full of surprises, and at least I got to see her one last time.

It's here! 2012!

Happy New Year! Although it's a little late for that. The day after tomorrow would be the day I receive my edusave award. The coming would be the judgement day and the momment of truth, where I receive my O level result. Since 2011 has ended.. I can conclude that watching korean dramas is one of the most frequent active I'd done on that year. Ofcourse, I've watched many impressive drama like Dong Yi, Spring Waltz, Secret Garden, Dream High and others.. some are yet to be finished like 49 days and Smile, Donghae. But none of these dramas have as much impact and influence as Queen Seonduk. It not only have an awesome storyline with unexpected twists like Dong Yi, but also filled with beautiful emotions and scenes like Spring Waltz and Secret Garden. Not only that the drama is also inspiring and motivates me, as it teaches the viewers important life values. It made me realise how our ancestor ruled their country, and appreciate their hardship and selfless contribution. It's quite diffcult for a drama to achieve such values. I've also witness the true power of drama. I enjoying watching dramas because it shows me the life of others. Sometimes it maybe be untrue or exaggerated, but it doesn't matter. Exaggeration is good because it gives us hope. Watching dramas also give me ideas in life, and influence the way I behave. Most drama comes with a postive influence, hence I enjoying watch them. In 2012 and the near future, I'm sure my fondness for drama will reminds the same.
